I forgot one, the reamer came back to me when I was converting Doug's(canon6) 357mag to an ejector, he was next on the reamer list, so I just did his while it was here. So yours was number 28.  ;)

I have 5 waiting on my list, if anyone wants to switch to Ian's list, go for it, Austinite received my reamer yesterday, so he should be returning it later this week.

Got the reamer in the mail today.  I was a little skeptical of this process as I usually don't take on projects like this, but the encouragement of others pushed me over the edge.

For any skeptics that think there's any level of difficulty - there's not.  It's flat out easy.  It took me about 20 minutes or so and I took my sweet time.

Range report to come soon and hunting reports to come this fall.

Tim, thanks so much for arranging the reamer exchange.  It will be mailed out Wednesday.

I added my name to Ian's list.  What a great idea to provide income to GBO.  Good timing for me too.  I am trying to finish my list of unfinished projects.

Got home at 3:45PM today.  Reamer was in the mailbox.  Job done and it's now on the way back to Tim.  Used wrong box though - not flat rate.  Cost an extra 70 cents  ::)

I hope I went far enough.  At the start, I put some Dykem on the barrel's existing rim recess to use as a visual gauge.  But, all the Max cartridge cases I tried appeared fully chambered, and ever so slightly below flush, before the reamer scraped any Dykem away from the factory's rim recess.  So, I tried a bunch of new and reloaded .38 Spec and .357 Mag rounds and some empty casings.  They all dropped in noticeably below flush with the end of the breech.  Hmmm..... maybe some factory tolerance for rim thickness or what?

Rim cuts are typically generous, doesn't help accuracy much tho with the added headspace.  :-\ You can eliminate the excess headspace by modifying the extractor to hold the case against the standing breech tho, I've done it to several barrels, all you have to do is thin the extractor post a little on the rear breech side, then add a shim to the front side of it so it bottoms out in the extractor notch in the barrel trapping the rim so it can't go forward in the rim cut. You'll have to test all brass you're going to use to make sure the thickest rims will chamber ok.

Tim, I received the reamer and am finished and on the way to the PO, will PM the delivery confirmation # tonight.
Also had to test it,could only shoot twenty five yards a home but it shot better than before...I had two different powder charges loaded up waiting for the reamer and I had ragged hole the size of a quarter  ;D can't wait to get to the range. P.S. This was easy...can't believe I waited so long.   Thanks for making it available ,Tony

Glad you're happy with it Tony, thanks for the heads up.

kmbrown is up next as soon as I get it back. I'm on-call for jury duty this week, so it may delay my getting it back out again.

Received Ian's reamer on Friday, did the work yesterday, mailed it today.  Ian, expected delivery is 6-3-10.
Ian's reamer is scary sharp.  It made quick work of the chamber.  I think that I oiled, cleaned, and reamed about 6 times to get the chamber.

Thanks Ian.  Thanks all for setting this idea in motion.

Now I need some Max brass.  I had reset the parallax on this rifle's Trophy scope to 50 yards......might should have left it at 100 with the Max loads.

Got the reamer in the mail today and had the job finished about an hour later. Very easy to do.  It will be on it's way back home tomorrow.  FYI, I bought brass from Cabelas about a month ago for $24.99/100.

Welcome! Just PM me your name and mailing address, and I'll get it to you when your turn comes up, there are two ahead of ya. Return the reamer with $20, $5 covers my shipping, the other $15 goes to GBO, you can chip in more if you like, it's all for a good cause, instructions will come with the reamer, they're also in this thread back towards the beginning.
