Any ETA?  would love to ream my barrel.  would have the reamer back in the mail within 48 hours
My FFL holder requires any firearms to be shipped to them via another FFL holder.  So, If I make an offer on a firearm please let me know if this is capable of being done from the start.  Please do NOT mark an item "SPF" to me until we "both" are happy with and in agreement on shipping, funds and the transaction in general.   Thanks

oldmanrallee received the reamer on the 30th, I sent him a PM yesterday asking how he was doing with it, he quoted my PM back to me with no reply, I sent another PM which he hasn't answered yet.

Tim,

The reamer will be shipped out Monday priority USPS.

That was hands down the easiest chamber reaming I have ever done.  Was like the reamer was cutting butter.

I understand this reamer is the correct rifle type.  Can anyone tell me how long the throat is with this reamer?  Specifically, what cartridge overall length is required to touch the lands with a Hornady 180gr. SSP or a Hornady 200 gr. FTX.
Thanks,
Steve

I checked mine, 2.578" for the 180gr SSP(BC .248) which puts the bullet entirely out of the case. It's 2.300" for the 180gr Speer(BC .236), I've only shot the Speer loaded just off the lands.

I don't know, even in my Maxi chamber you can see the end of the old chamber, not enough to leave a mark on the brass though, the Maxi round is tapered slightly tho.

Is this reamer a forcing cone style reamer or a rifle chamber reamer?  If it is not a rifle style chamber reamer my question is; "Could you use a rifle style chamber reamer in a Handi or Contender?"  "If you can would that get rif of the old forcing cone style chamber and leave you with a true throat?"  I am just wondering and anyone's help or input would be great.  Thanks.

(The reason I ask is b/c I noticed the guys in the Casull reamer thread are using a rifle or "non-forcing cone" style chamber reamer.)

If you can please reply to me via PM so I don't get accused of hi-jacking.  Thanks.

Perhaps the answer to this is buried somewhere in the 8 pages, so please forgive me if it is:

- what make is the reamer?  PTG, Clymer?
- how much freebore and leade does it cut?  Perhaps if someone could post the max OAL they have with a well-known bullet, that would answer the question indirectly.

Tim,

I tried to PM you with this but it bombed out on me so I'm trying here.  Is there a .30-40 reamer out there on this same pricipal which I can use for my .30-30 Handi? If not, do you have any suggestions for doing this?

Thanks!

I answered the PM, I'm not aware of one, I dunno if it can be done by hand or not, but reamers are available for rent from 4D and Elkridge.
