I have not been successful in figuring a way to mount a standard receiver sight to the rear of a Contender barrel. None of the standard Williams aperture sights made for a Contender will go high enough to work with a Lyman 93 MJT globe sight mounted on a front sight base. The center of the aperture on the rear sight must be 21/32 (21mm) above the surface of the barrel to be at the same height at the 93 MJT Globe.
The Williams FP-TC and the WGRS-TC are both at least 1/4" too low and the only apparent solution is to use either a Lyman or Williams sight that mounts to a standard sight base. These bases are normally mounted to drilled and tapped holes in the receiver but, of course, there is no receiver on the Contender.
It might be possible to drill and tap the side of the barrel for the base but I am not sure about exactly how high the G2 frame comes up on the barrel when it is closed.
I would certainly appreciate any ideas that would allow me to mount an adjustable aperture target sight to a standard G2 Contender .810" bull barrel that would allow an elevation adjustment centered at 21/32" (21mm) above the top surface of the barrel.
