Just got 2 extra hammers to play with,
I plan on heating the "cocking lever" of the hammer cherry red and bending it back, and while it is hot welding on a hammer extension.
Questions:
1) should I only heat the part I am bending (keep the rest submersed in liquid)
3) after I am done bending and welding, does the whole hammer need to be "heat treated"
4) If it does need to be heat treated, do I heat the whole thing too "red" and dip in oil ?
Thanks for any input,
Nick
