This is a story that isn't unusual but really set chills up my spine. I've seen bobcats, deer, fishers, otters and beavers this place is like being on wild america tv show. There has been mountainlion sited here but not by me yet in Ct. There was three of us fishing in the evening it was still light. Its a rural area with houses on one side and woods on three sides if you quartered the area. Well there clearing land and building new houses on the other side of the woods now. We were fishing when one lone howl started it was right near us closeby. One of us said it sounded like a human howl. I said no way its a coyote howl. Then the whole pack chimed in it sounded like ten of them. It was bone chilling eerie howls and was enough for me to pack up since it was almost dark now. While I have heard coyotes before in Vermont going thru the whole valley at night but never this close to me. As I find myself spending more time outdoors the more stuff I'm seeing and hearing. And if new construction continues like it has been I'll be shooting deer in my front yard soon there will be no woods/habitat left for them here. We need to leave some space for them too. BigBill
