Benjamin Discovery with pump reviews?

I was looking at these in .22 and wondered how anyone who had one, liked theirs? 

How hard is it to pump it up to 2000psi? and how long does it take?
How accurate is it?
How do you like it?
How many shots can you get out of it before having to pump it up again?

These are great rifles for the money. I have 2 of the Benji Disco's and my 2nd Marauder is on its way. they are both in 177 and 22 cal. 2000 psi isn't at all bad to pump rifle up too.The Marauder can be set-up to 3000 psi if so desired. The Disco is set up at 2000 psi with power like you wouldn't beleave for an air-rifle.
I just pick up a scuba tank for my Benjamin guns as well as my 50 cal Big Bore Airgun. It can become an adiction like you wouldn't beleave which is a good thing. I love Precharge Pneumatic Airguns. If you get one you should get apprx 30 or more shots from a fill .All the best and thumbs!!!!!
PS :you will have no problems shooting one hole groups with right pellet combination.

Thanks for the info Dave!  I have another question for you now.

I was reading on the Pyramid air blog that the Marauder was extrememely quiet.  Like if you were 50 yards away, you would not even hear it go off.  Is that true?  Is the Disco much louder?

If it really was that quiet, it would be worth the additional cost, just for the convenience of getting to shoot it in the back yard without all the neighbors hearing it.

Also, if I went the Maurader route instead, and I used the hand pump, is only pumping it to 2000 pounds a big disadvantage?  I would only be looking to get a 14.3 grain pellet about 700 to 800 fps.  I would think that a .22 pellet that speed would be great for rabbits out to 40 yards.

  I'd like to hear more from Dave too.  I held back on getting a Discovery when I heard the Marauder was coming out.  The repeat shot advantage seems worth the extra money.  Is it?  Does it work/feed reliably?  The addition of the integral barrel shroud "moderator" is interesting too.  If it's that quiet it could be just the thing for lots of suburban critter controll. 

  Years ago I drooled over the Beeman Gamekeeper that I couldn't afford.  25 cal PCP with bottles, detachable stock and barrel (it came in .25 but you could swap out to .22 or .177).  Now that's no longer available, but the Sheridans are here now.

      Sorry I haven't been on the forum in days. The marauder is very quite in comparrison to the Disco. I took my 1st tree rat and and bird with my 22 cal marauder today. Man it shoots quite but hits hard as heck. I like my Disco's too. They are lighter in comparison to the M-rod or Marauder. You do get the pump if you buy the Disco in a kit . I thin py-air sells or will sell the Marauder with a pump in a kit as well. If not you can order a pump say such as a Hill or FX pump. I have had great luck with my Benjamin pump . I even plumbed a discant drier filter on my one pump like a hill pump for mosture issues. These are great rifles and great customer service to boot. Go with Crosman products they can't be beat.

 Note that if you want a Discovery with a walnut stock, they don't make them anymore. They've changed over to "hardwood." Unfortunately, some  online retailers still describe them as having walnut stocks...

The other day I was walking thru my friendly neighborhood sporting goods store looking for a fishing pole actually, when I wandered into the firearm section, where I saw Disco's on sale, and was told that I could get an additional 15% off (since the one in the box was butt ugly sap wood so I took the display gun which appeared about perfect) since they were stopping carrying the gun.
Long story short is I walked out of the store with a Disco in walnut, quite nice looking, with pump just slightly over $300 incl tax (8.625%).  Pumped it up, which was easy I thought, and fired away. I got about 35 shots and the pressure dropped about 1/2 way from 2000psi still in the green...this is a .177 gun.  The Disco heavy hollow pt supplied with the gun were more accurate than Premiers..!!  Premiers would not penetrate a piece of 1/2" T1-11, but the heavy Disco pellets did easily taking a large chunk of wood off the back of the T1-11.  So far, I'm shooting the open sights on the gun....but not overly impressed with the accuracy so far. Pellet suggestions welcome....? Nice light attractive pretty good quality pcp...the plastic trigger is a little crappy but works very well actually and light enough to shoot well.  Maybe I will put a peep sight on this and keep it light and compact...the green fiber front sight would work well with a peep.

get some of the crosman premeire 10.5 gr they will give you the punch you want . Also might want to try some rws pointed pellets or jsb and beeman pellets are good to from what i have read and shot myself. The Crow mags by beeman shoot great in my 22 cal crosman guns along with the rws super-pointed pellets. In my 177 cal disco and m-rod i shoot crosman premiers ultra 10.5 gr in those 2 rifles with outstanding punch and accuracy. Hope that helps. You will just have to shoot possible a pellet sampler pack to see what your rifle likes. All the best!!!

Love it, plain and simple. Accurate, powerful, and fuuun to shoot.
Can`t say about the hand pump because I use a scuba tank and a Benji pigmy tank.

With a little tweaking these rifles can put out as much as 30 ft/lb of energy.
Thirty ft/lb is about the max that can be squeezed from a Disco.

The higher the power setting, you get less shots per fill. The lower the power setting, more shots per fill.

It is an individual choice concerning power settings.
I have mine set at 23.5 ft/lb at the present time.

If you want to adjust the power up and down, you will need to install a power adjuster.
Not very expensive.

Thats some nice power in the Disco. If people want them quite tko make a brake that will silence them down. Also nice but expense replacement stocks at Airguns of Arizona they as well . Mike at TKO have extras that can be put on the disco TKO's # = 402-660-5073
