best compensator
« on: September 29, 2009, 07:59:34 AM »
I have been thinking about replacesing the bircage compensator on my MP15 and there are so many out there, the best performing one that I have try'd has been the AK74 style comp. but I think it's quite gowdy looking. What's people opinion of the different ones like the "Y" comp, "shark" and such and others?  I'm mostly looking for which one works the best hence I plan on using the gun for three gun competitions. Thanks for any help.

The Vortex and Phantom seem to do the best in the tests I've seen on AR15.com

I recently finished an AR build and I chose the Yankee Hill Machine Phantom.  It works well, and has aggressive cuts for CQB also.

Phantoms are primarily flash suppressors. If you want a VERY good compensatoe try this: http://primaryweapons.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=9&idcategory=

First off sorrys it has taken so long for me to get a new comp on my rifle and give my two cents on it. I ended up going with the FSC 556 comp. and all I can say is wow I pretty impressed it looks cool and it really works. I did some quick rapid fire tests at 50 and 100 yards and even at 100 yards I had no problem keeping them on a pie plate at 100 yards. I'm really looking forward to my next three gun event this comp will shave some time off for sure.
