Savage model 340D
« on: October 08, 2003, 07:59:56 AM »
While on a business trip, I stumbled across a beautiful Savage model 340D, 222 Rem. It sports an original Weaver mount and orgininal K6 scope with a post recticle. The shop selling it rated it at 98% but after a very careful inspection, I feel it is almost NIB. From what I can tell, it was shot very little. The owner gave me some shells and let me take it our back on his "range". This rifle got .75 @ 100 with Remington 50gr fodder! For #375.00 I think I got a good deal and this guy is an exact replica of the gun my Dad gave me in 1960 (my first one)! Anyway, I called Savage hoping to get a date or time-frame of manufacture. Was told they don't have records that far back and I was out of luck. Any suggestions where I can get this info? Thanks again!  :D
