S&W Lock question
« on: September 30, 2009, 11:48:37 AM »
For the newer models with locks, could you just not replace the thumbpiece with an old style and cover up the hole if it really offends? I'm looking at Midway and they have a stainless old style thumbpiece for $13.

Could be, I've never tried this but, why not? The new thumb latchs are hollow anyway.

After posting here I looked around and seems there's a fella makes a plug, sells them on smith-wesson forum.

I think he's just talking about covering it up with an old style thumb cylinder release?

It's actually a plug that is installed from the inside, you'll disassemble the gun and insert the plug from the inside of your revolver.

Bought two from the guy, one is installed in my 610-3 and one in mail for the 686 Plus.
