Rear sight elevator Help needed

Hi,


I just finished making a new barrel for an old Stevens 44, After making a new rear sight I need to make a new elevator.  The problem is that I want to regulate the rear sight for distance.  Here is the info for the math.

I have software to make drop charts but I need to translate that to the appropriate sight height for the lifter.

Caliber is 38 special,  Average Velocity 1100fps 158gr lswc BC, .150 

I want to regulate for 5 steps for 25yds each. to a max of 125 or if possible 150yds.  With no adjustment I am zeroed at 25yds.

A lot of older rear sights, from back when they were used more, had a screw tapped into the rear sight.  By screwing down the screw you adjusted the sight to exactly where you wanted it.  By using a fine thread pitch, you could count turns to know what adjustment to make, like turrets on a scope.  Try looking for a Dockendorf sight.  I have one and they are slick.  Mine is a peep version.
