What to do with hornady basic brass?
« on: October 07, 2009, 06:44:11 PM »
I have a 375 ruger and brass isnt available. I have seen "hornady basic brass" but Im not sure what your supposed to do with it to make usable cases.

Do you just need to run it thru a full length sizer and then trim to length?

Thanks in advance

First make darn sure it is the correct basic brass to begin with. I am aware of their H&R belted basic but have not seen them offer the correct basic for the new Ruger rounds. But in general if you get the right brass then yes you run it into the correct die and use it. It likely would be wise to anneal it first and depending on how far you need to take it down you might have to do it in steps and not all at once.

Midway and quite a few others have it and H&H basic too. I will get some and try it. Thanks again

My order for 375 ruger brass placed on 8-29 has been continually pushed back and is now expected in stock on 11-23. Im not going to hold my breath that it will ship then.
