Coyotes are a big problem in my hunting area (Canada).
We had a couple of bad winters, and the coyotes, and wolves took a big toll on the deer.
Snow was deep, and it stayed all winter, the coyotes could quickly wear a small to medium deer down.

Saw two wolves during the deer hunt, but couldn't get a shot.
Best of luck finding a hunting partner.
