« on: October 12, 2009, 08:54:01 AM »
Dear Mr. Greybeard Sir,

I would like to have a forum opened called Hunting in Kansas. This is the one that interests me, and it is not available. There are many like it but feature other states. How would I go about doing this. I noticed were you stated no more polls that is why I am asking. I am just trying to go about this the correct way.

Yes I would be proud to be the moderator for this forum.

Yes I want this forum and will read and post to it as well as be the moderator..

No more polls. I want to see 12 folks make a posting saying they will read and post to a new forum to get it added. I got tired of folks voting in polls anonmyously and then not using it just to help someone get a new forum they wanted but for which there was no real interest. I have forums here set up like that not used for months at a time.

If you want it make a post stating that.

Sorry, I must have missed the change.  I will post in it, will respond in it, and would be happy to moderate or co-moderate if Big Nasty doesn't want the job.

After all, how many states have deer like this one:

;) I would gladly read a Kansas hunting section. It is one of the states I have traveled through many times, and wondered why I have not hunted there.... Good luck... ;)

Big Nasty,

I live in Wichita and would support this effort.  I bow hunt deer and antelope in the western section and use a Handi .204 on yotes and dogs the rest of the time.  Since they have opened the state to out of state hunters I feel you would get good traffic and response on this forum.
Good Luck!

Big Nasty,

A P.S. to the above.  Become a GBO supporter.  It not only looks good but as a leader one must support the cause you promote!
Just a suggestion!

Kansasj I did in fact do that at one time and I am not sure if there is a minimum or something. I never did see a supporter icon on my posts, and well right now I am recently laid off and well you know how it is.

I would difinately support the KS forum. I hunt many times each year in KS with a few of my friends. We all make our own primitive archery hunting gear and take turkey each spring and fall and deer when drawn with stick & string. Been hunting there since 92.
Here is a 24lb tom w/10" beard I took last year and a 220lb 8pnt I took in 2007 in KS.

How did you make the donation? If via Pay Pal Matt gets those and if he can tie it to user name he makes the change. If via check I get those and make the change but if the person doesn't give me enough info in the envelope to know who they are on the forum I can't do it. I think there were around three or four who made small donations and gave me no clue who they are on the site. I still have all envelopes so if you think you are one of those PM me the name on the envelope and I can verify it. If pay pal you'll need to PM Matt not me.

Kansasj I did in fact do that at one time and I am not sure if there is a minimum or something. I never did see a supporter icon on my posts, and well right now I am recently laid off and well you know how it is.

OK guys were almost there, spread the word. I know there has to be more than just a hand full of Kansas folks that use the great GBO. If there is only a handful than it is time we did a little or a lot I should say to spread the word. I honestly have never seen a site like this. It has almost everything a guy could ask for as far as information is concerned. The people here are great people and the ones who aren't well they have a bearded man that makes them all go away. He is a great guy, he is the kind of people I truly enjoy honest and tells it like it is, you don't like it he don't care. I have never found a place where people treat each other the way they do here, and most of them have never even seen your face. If the world we live in today played like GBO and the rules of it I think we would all be better off.

I certainly will read and post to this forum once in a while but I am getting over an operating on the Cervix and herniated disks so hunting won't be until next year.

fknipfer I sure hope you are doing well, I once to had a C6 and C7 fusion, and still have a 20% compression fracture in T12 and L1. IT SUCKS.
I wish you a speedy recovery, and a fine season when you get back in the woods.

Thank You
