Sav 12VBSS Scope Mount
« on: October 11, 2003, 12:22:31 AM »
I think I've exhausted all avenues, but I'll ask anyway.

I want a one piece stainless mount for my Savage 12VBSS w/accutriger.

Does anyone here know of a source for this?

Thanks

Brownells list many different 1 pc. mounts for the Savage 110 series rifles.  Stainless may really be satin nickle plated but that's as good as stainless.  I never went thru the entire catalog but a call to their tech line will give access to the top of the line info, both as to what's out there and availability.  They can also switch you to their order line and the base can be ordered online with just a creditcard...  Also their shipping is famtastic, usually here, in 2-3 days.. Is there a receiver profile difference between the accu-trigger guns and the standard 110 series rifles?  I would bet there isn't but the tech line guys will be able to tell you for sure..

The new short action w/accutrigger uses a different mount than the 110.

The advice from the scope mount mfgs is to use 2 front mounts from a Rem. 700. This leaves no room for scope adjustment and if you use the Burris Signature Rings (which are wider because of the inserts) will get into the scopes bells. I haven't been able to find turn-in bases in stainless.

I sure do wish Farrell did stainless.

Found a source for what I am looking for.

http://www.nearmfg.com/

It's a little pricey but it looks like they have the expertise and the equipment to justify.
