Peep sights for 527 carbine?
« on: October 13, 2009, 07:39:05 PM »
Any peep sights available for the 527 that don't require drilling and tapping?  And has anyone used the new peeps available for the 452?  And am I one of three people on the planet that uses peeps and likes to shoot offhand?

March to a different drum and you don't have to worry about a crowd.  Or company.

Both XS Sights & New England Custom Gun make/market receiver peep sights that utilize factory and Weaver scope mountings as their bases.

They list as fitting Ruger and Sako dovetailed actions, and there's a note to call them for other/special applications - so, you might want to check with each of their respective customer service techs.

For the 452 are you talking peeps or the replacement ghost ring by J&P.  I have used the ghost ring and like them for open sight shooting.  I don't know how the rear sight is mounted on the 527 so I can't say if they'll work.
