Allen Broadheads from Wal-Mart

Archery season starts Thursday here (southern MS) and I'm getting set up with a limited budget. I have been looking at both the mechanical and fixed Allen broadheads that they sell at the local Wal-mart. I can get them for one third to one half the cost of everything else. Anyone tried these, and if so what was the result?

If you are talking about the black in color 100gr mechanical in a red package that have a rubber band at the bottom GET THEM. I have used them for years, and have never had a lick of trouble ever. I wish I could remember the name of them but I think it is what you are looking at. They leave a wonderful blood trail I think none of my deer died because of being lunged they bled to death LOL. Some fuzzy pics to look at. I have never ever used fixed blade's because I don't want to have to tune the stinking arrow. Well I shouldn't say never I did when I was a kid and had no clue that needed to be done But dang it I was trying. I just like that mechanical fly just like practice tips. This year I am trying 3 blade rage's, my wife told me I should give it a shot see what they do. When they are junk I will go back to the wally world heads because they are priced right. You can shoot squirrels with them and not think wow that was stupid a 15 dollar broad head in a tree rat.
The very last day of deer season last year I shot a coyote with the rages only because I really wanted to see if the commercial was BS or not. Well let me tell you the commercial didn't even do it justice. This coyote took a step just after I sent the carbon missile and yep GUT SHOT. This yote ran in circles for about 2 minutes because it was trying to figure out what it was dragging. Well if he would have only asked me I would have told him, it was every gut it had in its body. Entrance hole oh a couple inches, exit hole I stuck both fists through it. I AM NOT EXAGGERATING ONE BIT. Don't believe me just ask me

Not sure about the mechanicals, but stay away from the fixed blades unless they're at least .020 thickness. That was always the trick to produce them cheaper with thin, flimsy blades.

I have found that the 2 blade rage shoots just like my field tips, and for fixed
so do the G5 Montec and t-locks all three shoot well. The G5 and the t-lock
have thick blades also.
