Archery sucess today!!!
« on: October 16, 2009, 10:22:42 AM »
Went back out this morning with the bow. Actually, I slept too late and didnt get in the stand until 8 a.m. after it was daylight.  ::) At 9:35 a.m. a nice fat doe come strolling through and stopped 15 yards out in front of my stand and stood broadside just pretty as you please. I have always said there is no such thing as "too easy" when it comes to archery hunting...but this situation was just too sweet. Double lunged her and she went about 35 yards before goin down.
I've already got the meat butchered and in the freezer...with the exception of the tenderloins which will be fried up and served with eggs, biscuits and gravy tomorrow morning.  ;D The completion of a fine, albeit short hunt. Man I love deer season.

Congrats!  :)

How about a pic in the Hunting Pics section of you and your deer? ;) I'm here in the Middle East desert, I need a visual to help get me in the mindset of deer hunting.  ;D  I will be home in about 3 more weeks and will have to hit the ground running.

Thanks, Dinny

Flatlander,
Thank you, it's a pleasure to serve.  I think I will do that very same thing myself, a little tenderloin with my eggs, grits, and fried potatoes. Yum, yum, yum.  The food here is decent but the same thing week in and week out.  Gets old real quick.

Thanks, Dinny

 Great Job
I hate it when you have to hunt so hard ;) Kinda like my Deer last year, in my avatar. Went to the stand at 630am, drinking coffee at home by 730am with my antlers ;D
