Question for Tim (Quicktdoo)
« on: October 17, 2009, 10:36:52 AM »
Here's one I can't quite figure out.
I just picked up a NH 1993 Handi that has a matching Pardner Tracker II SB1 20ga 3" rifled slug barrel. serial # ending 529 stamped on both.
I have pulled the stock and the frame is an SB2 for sure.
It also came with a 45-70 barrel that has no # on it.
Question-
Why would they put a SB1 slug barrel on an SB2 frame from the factory?
Do you think the 45-70 was also ordered at the same time therefore the need for the SB2 frame?
Wonder why the 45-70 barrel wasn't stamped also?

I think the simple answer is they didn't mark the 45-70 barrel which was likely the original barrel, I have a barrel that I had fitted that isn't marked, so they do occasionally skip marking them, that's why I stated in another thread they mark them 99.9999% or the time. :D

You may be right.
I have other barrels that are not marked.
I never thought about the 45-70 being the main barrel.

Thanks

The barrel on my BC is not marked. It was a 2007 build in Garner.
