Outdoor woodstoves

I am starting research on one of these outdoor wood furnances and was wondering if anyone had advise/experience with them. I burn 3-5 rics of wood a year and do to placement of stove(not my doing) it will only heat one end of house so I wanted to look into the outdoor type. Any help in this matter would greatly be appreciated

I have been looking at one of these units, but I have not found one installed.  The next time I'm through MO, I intend to stop at the factory.

i have seen a few of these installed and they seem to work preety good fromwhat i have heard i have also thought about getting one for my home but haven't got it yet due to expense aunt used tohave one at the house she lived in and they really liked it. ot sure about the brand or whatkinds they actually make but i am sure you can find a good one at affordable price. the ones i have  seen were tied into the ductwork and have heard they can also be tied into the water heater not sure about that one though.

Some of my neighbors have them, and seem to like them.  One gets his domestic hot water through this furnace as well. I don't know about the practicality of that part, though.  It seems like there's smoke coming out of that stack the year round--even in the summer.

  Well, there's 3 ricks in a cord, so you burn less than 2 cord a year.  It will be one he!! of a long time before you break even on the 6 to 8 thousand dollars it's going to take to buy a outdoor wood stove and get it installed...

  There's LOT'S of them around here, and i'm told the cheaper ones use more wood, and don't last as long as the expensive brands.  Even the best one will use 1/4 to 1/3 more wood than the direct heat from a wood stove in your house.

i  have a  hardy h2 outdoor boiler   i burn  it  from  about  september  to  may  ,  i  heat a 1800 sq ft  home  and  my  domestic hot  water  ,  i  did  the  install  myself  and  it  cost me $6700 total .  During january  and  feb  i burn a  cord of  wood  every  2.5 -3 weeks   the  year before  i  installed  the  boiler  i  spent  $2300 on  propane  .  works  well  for  my  needs  as  i  cut  my own  wood  and  have  a nearly  endless  supply  for  free

I as well have access to free wood and alot of it. And that was my mistake wasnt paying attention it was cords not rics and my electric bill for DEC-March averages close to 325 a month so where I went to school it would pay for its self in approx 5 yrs maybe sooner if I used it for water heater as well.
