I know some silhouette shooters would seat 180 grain bullets long enough that they wouldn't work in a revolver, but regular weight bullets, I don't think so.
On top of potentially creating a dangerous pressure situation, you may just not have enough room to seat the bullets out very far before hitting the lands anyway.
Realistically speaking, the .357 Magnum is no slouch out of a 10" Contender anyway. You aren't bleeding any of your pressure out of the barrel/cylinder gap like you would a revolver, and you have between 4 and 6" of extra length beyond what most revolvers give.
