Magazine ?

I was wondering if there is a difference in overall dimensions of a long and short action tikka magazine there almost has to be but other on another forum say they are the same length to cut costs down i know the bolts are but the magazines would hae to be longer because i have a 308 and 06 cases dont fit.
The reason i ask is i want to know if i can take a long action mag and use it in my short action tikka 308 so i can get a longer COL.

Now that would be great if it worked . I have  338 F too that is limited in OAL because of the magazine , and it might improve the reloads  if we could get a bit closer to the rifling .
So we need to compare with some one who has a 3006.
