The remnants of "RICK" moved inland last night.
We got 6 inches overnight and it is still raining.
My daughter can't get out of her S/D this AM.
Rick formed as a hurricane off Baja and moved across Northern Mexico. It met a Cold front here in Houston.
OH WELL, life along the gulf coast.

I haven't made it home to check my rain gauge yet today.
But I was traveling up to Okla. City yesterday after work and got drowned.
I picked up a truck load of ammo at a couple FTF deals and had to leave it in the truck when I got home.
It rained all afternoon and all night here in Central OK.
I won't be surprised to find my little rain gauge full either.
Been one of the wetter years I remember around here, feels like I'm living in the PNW.


Well I got home and checked and it was just under 3 inches.
Not as bad as it seemed, but still a pretty good drenching.

  Sort of. They released two flood dams into Travis. We got some good rain but most of it was east of us here in Austin.

Since January 1 of this year, they claim that the Bonham Tx area just about 35 miles east of me has had 90 inches. We have flood warnings weekly here, and this black gumbo dirt is now black gravy. Everyone is sick of it, and it rained all night and is raining right now.

   The old "Blackland Prairie Revenge"!!!! I remember rabbit hunting north of Hillsboro, tx getting stuck in that stuff years ago.

Black Gumbo  ~    One wet fall season my Dad's Soybean harvest was hampered by that stickey stuff.    We had a convoy of tractors and trucks chained up together trying to pull a truckload of beans out of the field.   What a mess that was.

well it sounds like you could market that stuff..got to be good for something..
what about neighborhoods using that stuff instead of speed bumps...

It stopped raining two days ago today, and my lawn still sounds like your walking on a sponge. I have been sorting brass after a two year lay off. Am going to load some 3030 tomorrow, after I take it out of the tumbler. It's dry in the shop.

It rained Wed., and water's still standing in the back yard.   I dug a 3'deep x 12diameter" post hole Tuesday. Hit rock and couldn't go any deeper.   Went out today to drop in the post, and the hole was full of water. >:(   May be in for more rain in Monday.
