finally got my contender

new to this website not good with computers. did'nt know how to post new topic. just wanted to let you guys know that this is an informative forum. read through some of the post and they helped greatly. piggy backed my first experience shooting my .35 remington contender with "new to contender" forum. Thanks can't wait to get my next contender.

I've got my 410 and my 44 mag, now I want a 22 with scope for the bushy tails.

Thanks for the welcome Tommyt and mb4859. I think I got my dad hooked on the contenders. After he shot it and the forend jumped out of his hand he turned around and looked at me with a great big grin. I then told him to double fist the grip, he then shot another round. even bigger grin I think he's hooked.

LOL!  The forend on a Contender (or Encore pistol) is to give you something to lay the barrel across!  Other than that, you shoot them just like any other pistol.  Keep the index finger on you non-shooting hand pointed at the target as you shoot, or you'll get a nasty cut from the trigger guard if you ever shoot any cartridges with significant recoil.  Don't ask me how I know! ;D

Thanks for the welcome Alaska Dave and Dezynco I really enjoy shooting this gun its got a pretty decent kick to it and the trigger guard as you said hit my index finger, dropped non shooting hand under firing hand shot 4 more rounds was having so much fun shooting did not realize bottom of pistol grip with smiling cat on aluminum cap was digging into my palm. went to reload for the 5th time noticed blood on left palm. Yeah I just kept shooting anyway til that box of 20 ran out. more bood. I got that odd shaped grip, looks like it's time for a custom grip project. Yep I definitely got the curse and will be looking for another contender at the gun shows.
