Favorite NEF/H&R single shot

I'm looking to buy a new truck gun. A few years ago my son had a NEF pardner youth single shot 20 gauge. He grew out of it and we traded it in for a another shotgun. I miss the little single shot as it was handy and fun to shoot. Looking at the NEF web site I'm getting confused with all the different models. I wouldn't mind the model with the vent rib, but don't want a 28inch barrel. I'd like to find another 20 gauge and eventually get a slug barrel with rifle sights for it.

a 20 gauge tamer would be a good truck gun. i really like my fixed choke turkey its got a 24" full choke barrel would like to get a 22" mod barrel though. any one you chose would probably work really well

I guess what I'm looking for is a 20 gauge single, barrel 26 inches or less with a recoil pad. I like the looks of the stainless reciever and blue barrel, also a screw in choke would hurt. I just looked at the turkey/waterfowl models and those were the right size. I'm making a run up to Cabelas to see what they have on the shelf. To bad Walmart stopped selling firearms up here, thats were I bought the youth model for my son.

they make a youth model 20ga with choke tubes and a 22in barrel should make a good truck gun

I put together two 22 inch shotguns; .410 full and 20ga. mod.  I love both of them.  Light, fast swinging, and deadly.  However, I'm putting together my truck gun which will be one of my .357 Mag Handis reamed to .357 Maximum and fitted with a youth MC stock and a red dot scope.
