.270 maximum
« on: October 26, 2009, 10:01:16 AM »
Anyone ever heard of or have information on a ".270 maximum".  While researching the .256 Win Mag, I started thinking about something just a tad larger.  I was thinking of a .270 or 7mm version of the .357 maximum necked down.  Lo and behold I found one reference to a .270 maximum but a bit of googling brings nothing else.  Any information out there in GB-land?

Thanks,
NGH

The rimless equivalent was the .270 Ingram, a .223 necked up and blown out.  It was developed in the late 1970s for IHMSA compentition.

hmmm... found a reference to a 7mm Super Mag which may be named the same as another cartridge.  This one was a 7mm on the .357 Maximum case.
