Broke my pardner... help?
« on: October 26, 2009, 11:49:29 AM »
After years of being banged around, and taking countless numbers of pheasant, quail, chuckar, and pig, my NEF pardner finally showed its age.  The stud where the forend screw threads into broke off the bottom of my barrel.

This was the first shotgun I have ever fired, taken game with, and was a gift from my parents when I was 11.  It is very important to me sentimentally, so I would prefer to repair it.  Is there a way to repair the broken stud?

Silver solder would be best, but I've reattached two of them using epoxy, JB Weld or SuperWeld work fine, the secret is the same as if you were silver soldering it, good metal prep, a clean, rough surface to bond to.  ;)

I have seen more than one with the forearm taped on. These guns are far to classy for duct tape. I prefer black electial tape.

I'd much rather be remembered for being a great shot than having the most expensive gun

Zip ties, just make sure you trim them right or they will cut you. :D

Silver solder works well, jut make sure to heat sink the barrel.
Have lights? Thank a Lineman!
