What do you recommend for Whitetail?  Range could go to 300 yds across grain fields.

Rifle is Rem 700 LVSF with 22" barrel.

I like Nosler bullets. In my 7mm-08, I like the 140 Partition bullet and W760 although any good bullet from 120 up should do well.

Interesting....When did Remmy make a LVSF in 7mm-08?

Thanks, Dinny

I haven't tried the Nosler Partition 140-gr bullet, but am using the 140-gr Barnes TSX, but either one is a dead bang on whitetail.

Any of the premium bullets like the Partition or the TSX are fine.  The nice thing about the 7mm-08 is that it's working velocity range is such that regular cup and core bullets also work fine for deer.

Nosler 140 grain ballistic tips worked great in my 7mm-08 at 265 and 310 yards which are my longest shots for this rifle.  Deer at 265 dead on impact the deer at 310 ran about 40 yards (measured with a range finder).  Several kills at shorter ranges with the same acceptable results.  To me these premium bullets.

Dinny, there were special runs of the LVSF in 243, 7mm-08, and 308 for large dealers.  A hunting partner and I each bought one NIB on GunBroker.  Both of ours were 7mm-08.  It is a very practical rifle, and I do not know why they didn't make them catelogued items.
