Magazine for BLR
« on: October 28, 2009, 04:17:49 PM »
Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a magazine for a pre 81 BLR. Mine is a 358 Winny made in 1976. I've done the gun show thing, searched the web without success. I'm down to one mag and if something would happen to that one I'd have a pretty fancy single shot. Any and all help would be appreciated!

Try gunbroker.com under browning blr. I have bought several from there over the years.

You need the old style but one that says 308 or 243 will work with the 358 as well.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to set up an account with Gun Broker. Then keep an eye out for one or even maybe more if I'm lucky.

I purchased a BLR pre 81 about 15 years ago for an investment.  Since I purchased it I have acumulated three clips.

My youngest son now wants to choose his own rifle and has asked me to trade one of my rifles to help him purchase opne of his choice.

I will be selling the rifle and clips but if you are interested in my extra clips please let me know.

Thanks

Re: Magazine for BLR **** GOOD ON ME!!!

Thanks pastorp for the heads up on GunBroker. I just picked up a magazine on a "BUY Now" for $125 a bit pricey for sure but that seems to be the name of the game these days. The good thing is that I now have a spare coming. I bid on another auction and was just notified the auction has closed and that mag went for $140.01 + S&H. (setting a new standard maybe?)
That's over half of what I paid for my 358 Win BLR in 1976 and I even had a spare magazine thrown in on the deal. Those days are gone.
I don't know whether I lost it hunting or just put it some place "safe". It's hell being old and suffering from CRS.
The good thing is that I have another coming!!!

I see that, the new price standard I opined about has come to reallity. The first addy listed here was a buy it now for $175 and it went fast. The second one listed is a buy it now for $210. This is auction is still in progress. I hope that I will never be in need of another magazine. It would almost be cheaper just to buy a new rifle.
I'm going to keep an eye on the second just to see what happens...

The auction closed with the "BUY IT NOW". $210.00 + S&H WOW!!! That fellow wanted it very badly.
Now that has to be a new standard.
