Anybody doing any fall turkey hunting? I am considering trying to get me a fresh young turkey for Thanksgiving.

As for me to busy sticking deer. I used to hunt everything I could, but my bow is my life now. I don't know what it is, but I have a PASSION for bow hunting.

I get a turkey tag just to have in case they wander by while I'm deer hunting.

fr3db3ar I read your post just before going to the stand tonight, and thought yea right; I've never had a turkey even get close to me in a stand. Was that ever a jinks, I had turkeys under me, around me, everywhere. It sucks because they were making so much noise I didn't even see the dang doe I could have shot till it was to late.

LOL  the good news is...you found out that deer will turkey as a motion detector.  If you have turkeys around...the deer are bound to show up.

Looks like I will get a chance to go the first 2 days the week of Thanksgiving. My little girls daycare is closed from wendsday on, so it looks like I will only get those 2 days. But it will be good practise moving around the woods as Rifle season opens the following week. Plus it sounds like the wife is still wanting to go out deer hunting which is a plus.

She 19 months and is fighting a pretty bad cold at the moment. Although next spring is looking really good for her to get out in the field with me.
