Pardner Pump Walnut
« on: October 31, 2009, 02:42:17 AM »
I was able to examine one of these the other day for $199.00.  It was a really great looking gun.  I've heard the function well too.  I'd be pretty tempted.

I bought a Pardner Pump Protector this week. 18.5" barrel simple bead site and synthetic black stock. I really like the gun, Hope to get out and shoot it, maybe tomorrow. These guns look very well made, as I have had it apart and cleaned it. They are packed with some aweful oil/grease stuff but it cleans pretty easy. The Parkerizing (I think?) looks to be pretty good, and soaks up a good amount of oil. I dont think one could go wrong with one of these guns at all. $199 will not buy you any other low end shotgun brand new, mossbergs forearms rattle so much I wont buy one.

My 1300 is much smoother and will remain my clays and field gun, but if I need something to knock around, I wont mind taking the Pardner. Bought the Pardner mostly as a HD gun anyway.

I say buy it.

yep they are a very decent looking gun, but I won't purchase one as they are not made in the US. Call me a fool but that means a lot to me. I know that most things are made overseas now, but if I can aviod buying it from over there i do......

Me too and the fact that they just copied the Remington 870 sticks in my craw a little.

Remington didn't own them when they cloned the gun.  If China started coping Ford trucks and selling them for 1/2 price it would bother me too.

Welp iffin they made em as good as they made the browning knockoff .22's, i'm afraid my mexican, Korean, etc. Chevy would be traded in on one at that pricing..

I try, but my below poverty level income forces me to look for best prices, what we need to do to bring jobs back home is force our guvment to put stiff tariffs on imported firearms, cars etc. so our companies would be encouraged to come Home. And hope I don't get me butt kicked fer posting this here.. ;)

Well today I put some money down the compact 20 gauge model for my Daughter
It was on the list I took with me, after researching different models all week
He had this and a Stoeger model. He could of ordered anything I wanted

But since this was already in his store, I took a look at it. I was pretty impressed on how it was put together. So I put my money down. I believe this should serve my Daughter well for her first shotgun.

As for being made in China, that's a corporate decision. Most likely the gun has been bought and paid for many times. It became part of the gun store's assets and soon to be part of mine!
