Last night I made the mistake of browsing thru Remington's site  and now have to buy another. ;D
I've wanted a 700 in .257 Roberts for some time now ... but haven't really looked into it .
Judging from some of the pictures I've seen online , these are some fine lookin rifles.

Any .257 owners out there ?
Any input would be appreciated.

Last week I was in Colorado and met a new friend who offered to take me Elk hunting, I planned on buying a new rifle for the occasion and went to Remington's website thinking Elk rifle. Then I saw the rifle that you are speaking of... I want one!
Gonna have to make a decesion which to get, the 257 or an Elk rifle

Hey ,
.257 would be light for elk but if you cant decide ??? ....buy both.
Post a pic  when you buy it.

I live in a state that deer hunting is shotgun only.
I have plenty of varmint rifles but past 6mm I only have a 270 and  300 Savage and 308. I am thinking for out to 400 yards I want more power out of a 30 cal.
I know, the easy way out is to buy both. I have wanted a 257 for some time but have very little use for it

The .270 and the .308 are better elk rifles that the .257 Bob.  I'd go with the .308.

The rifle came in yesterday! ;D
The fit and finish is excellent , the new trigger breaks clean ,Remington's done a fine job IMO.

All thats needed is for some venison to step out .

WOW!  That is a really nice looking rifle.  Now I am really torn, as I thought I already had my next gun purchase set, but I would love to have a 257 Bob.

Thanks for sharing.  Hope you enjoy your new toy.

I bought one in 257bob. It's a real nice rifle. If I ever get back home I'll even shoot it some. [img]
