May I ask some advice??? Cast loads....41 mag and 44 mag
« on: November 02, 2009, 02:28:07 PM »
I bought a box each of Cast Performance, 41cal, 250gr, WFPGC and 44cal, 255gr, WFPGC.  I'd like to develop some full power hunting loads with H110.

Any suggestions???

Just load 'em up and give them a try.  Cast performance makes some great bullets.  The only suggestion I have to offer is to put a good crimp on those loads.

A Lyman loading manual and 2400 or H-110.

H110 and W296 are the same powder.  The load books are going to tell you not to reduce the min loads.  Pull out your manual and load up the min and max loads.  They will usually be within a grain of each other.   <http://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp>

Thanks all....I have quite a few manuals...just didn't know if there's a favorite load out there with the cast shooters fraternity.

YOU have to work up loads for YOUR gun! Mine WILL be different and might LIKE loads that would/could harm yours. The only bullets I've used in the .41 are 210 grains.
