Lead buyers, beware!!!!!!!
« on: November 04, 2009, 03:28:59 AM »
I spoke with one of my sons last night, and looks like Califunnyia is doing it again!!

Jerry manages an outlet for one of the big tire companies and wanted to check up on my WW supply.

Seems as if, starting by January 1, 2010, WW as we know them will start to become a thing of the past in that state.

They will become some type of alloy, Jerry thought steel based (??), and lead will become the big NO NO.

As you may know, there are some areas of that state which are lead free and it may become the rule for the entire state.

Oh, and don't forget the thumb print if and when you want to buy some ammo or other related products.

Jerry figures there will be a lot of boarder crossings to sporting goods dealers in surounding states.

I figure the correctness police will be getting a lot overtime trying to keep the state sanitary for all the funny folk.

His company will, on or about the first of the year, pick up all unused WW and then spread them out to company stores out of califunnyia.

The used WW from their stores, presently go to a recycler, which I guess will continue as the number of WW coming in on mounted tires begins to decrease.

I of course, told young son what I thought of the state in general and ask him what he could expect of a state which keeps palosie around.

Being from the north, he agrees, but I sure wish he and the family would get away from that place.  Big bucks do have their draw!

If it were not for Jerry and family, I would never go that direction, being always very glad to get home, but family, like big bucks does have it's draw.

Keep em coming!

The last "good thing" I can remember coming from California was a property tax issue called "proposition 13". That was about 30 years ago. Ronald Reagan gets high marks too.
If all the decent folks would just leave that place, those who remained would soon figure out the error of their ways because there'd be no-one left to pay for everything.
I can't think of any reason at all to go to or stay in that screwy state.  ::)
The allure of "filthy lucre" doesn't raise even my eyebrow.

Several in my extended family are of that socialistic persuasion.
I don't communicate with any of them except to let them know I won't be coming to Thanksgiving dinner or their "Holiday Festival" party.
(Whatever happened to Christmas?)
On the rare occasion they whine about my absence I make the flippant reply that "I don't knowingly consort with enemies of my country."
That usually cools their heels for a couple of years.
If I never heard from them again I could live in relatively dignified peace, (pun not really intended.)

I hear there is a movement afoot, (actual legislative acivity) wherein non-gun owning citizens would have to pay and annual tax [on the order of $500] for the privilege of living in America unarmed. The bill, (either in Vermont or "New Hampshah") holds that being armed is a requirement of a citizen of that state.
Its a very narrow reading of the state constitution, to be sure, but I like the sound of it.
If any of you see that kind of activity going on I advise supporting it in any way you can.

Ease up on CA guys. The prob is the state is run by three cities (most densly populated, non outdoor, non hunting, non shooting, commie pinko f__ voters); Los Angeles, San Fransco (Bay Area), and Sacramento. There are millions of good people here and many of them fight to keep things right (pun intended). But be aware; what happens here will happen in your state eventually. I read today Arizona has a lead ban in the works, and some east coast states already have lead sinker bans (not sure of which states so don't quote me). I've fought for many years to keep my state free (NRA, Cal. Rifle & Pistol Assn., I emailed legislators, signed and circulated petitions), but most of the stuff isn't voted on; it's enacted by some appointed moron ignorant of truths like the DFG for "Save the Buzzard" regulations. Yep, it's getting real bad here although the new ammo regulations are being contested, and there's a good chance it will be defeated. Even now, before the anti-ammo stuff a lot of folks go out of state for supplies; Las Vegas has some really good gun shows and Arizona is close to us shooters in So.CA.

BTW people ARE leaving CA! It costs 3 times as much to rent a U-Haul to leave Los Angeles and go to Dallas than to go from Dallas to L.A. Van lines also report the exodus OUT of CA. With the latest tax increase even more are going and as soon as I retire (Dec. 1) I'm outta here too!

Now if we could just get the State Of Jefferson movenent started again or the "Cut CA in Half" to make two states we would come out ahead and keep the silly liberals south of Marin Co. and the Freedom loving folk north!

So, instead of just bad mouthing us, lend a hand and a prayer. We can use both (and you might need some help too, soon).

Good Ones guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I realize there are still some good folk in califunnyia, quite a number of which I am related to.

However, the thing I don't understand is why they remain there.

Move while the mov'in is good, just don't move to Ideeeeeeeeho ;) ;D 8)

As per dividing states, well there is some thought of making one state of parts of Wash, Oregon, Ideeeeeeeeho and Montaaaaana.

Cut off Wash. and Oregon at the Cascades or now, maybe/probably a bit more East.  Of course, then there is the issue of Spokane and Boise which eather need to be cleaned up - purge the liberials - or tossed.

Keep em coming!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm???????????? :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

Maybe someone could expain why this was moved from the Bullet casting section.

That is who it was pointed at and those are the ones who would be concerned about the lead situation.

I have never had this done before and now those who need the info will more then likely not see it.

?????????????

Most Californians are really good folks who just want to get on with their lives with a minimum amount of governmant intrusion.  If you look at the anti-gun states you see that they are being controlled by the anti-gun liberals from the population centers like Boston, NY City, and Baltimore.

You are right.  It is already happening all over the US in small increments.  OK has its very own liberal population center-Tulsa.  Tulsa politics are as crazy liberal as many of the larger eastern cities.

The important point is that it's not getting any easier to get wheel weights or any other kind of low cost lead for bullet casting. Hight tin solder bars are not in common use as they once were either. I tried bullet casting but did not want to deal with the hassles of acquiring metal.

No offense intended towards alsaqr.
While I agree almost word for word in this quote, the word that I CANNOT hold as accurate is the word MOST.
If that were even slightly accurate we wouldn't be having this discussion.
What is accurate is that MOST Americans are willing to vote about something they know little or nothing about.
I don't see a good cure for that problem but it IS how we got to this crummy situation.

Your remarks are mostly correct and I agree with most of it..
I grew up in Maryland. There, Baltimore city and Baltimore county decide all elections because they out-number the rest of the state and they're a bunch of socialists or folks reachin' for a gov.'t tit ( the socialists primary chump.)
Its why I don't live there any more. City living requires socialistic thinking. How else can a city survive? They cannot feed themselves nor do almost anything else for themselves. Every necessity of life must be provided to them by the labor of others.
This is why, once upon a time only owners of land or businesses were allowed to vote. They are deemed to be the only people that have a tangible stake ("real property", a legal term and an important differentiation) in how any country is run and therefore the only people whose opinions matter.
It is/was the same [correct] thinking as figuring out who in a family will decide how the family finances will be managed. No sane, clear-thinking parent would let their children have any say in this subject.
People who receive any form of "dole" from any gov. entity are technically "wards of the state", just as children are wards of their parents or guardians.
Where is the sound reasoning principle that makes letting "wards" decide how the finances should be handled?

I agree 100%. As I remember , standing in line to vote last Nov. there seemed to be a lot of the "out-of-work-welfare" types talking about how "weeze gunna gets us a brotha in the prezdinsy now". Of course they would vote for the "gov't tit"!
