? on Handi Repairs
« on: November 04, 2009, 05:49:16 AM »
Hi All,
I found out that the problem i was having with my new 30-06 was that the firing pin was short striking, I sent it back to be repaired and i'm just curious what exactly will they replace?

Also i mentioned to them that the forend was drilled off center and effecting accuracy and i asked them to replace it with a new one. is this something that they will replace or am i just stuck with it?

Also does anyone have any idea how long the repairs should take?

Thanks Zack

Depends on if the have to replace the barrel, if it or any other part they need to replace is in stock, 2 weeks is a normal turnaround, but if a part is out of stock it could take a lot longer. There are only two ways to extend firing pin travel, install a longer firing pin, or remove some metal from the frame contact face of the hammer, the latter can be done by yourself, it's real easy.  ;)
