Barnett C5 Wildcat cracked limb

Just discoverd Monday night that one of the limbs on my Wildcat C5 Quad is cracking. It is a laminar crack, only visible from the bottom. I only found it while aimlessly stroking the limb while waiting for the deer to show up, and found a rough spot. It is 3 years old and has been shot maybe 400 times. Never dry fired and always shot at end of night. Talked to Barnett and it's covered under lifetime warranty. Newer one's only have one year. Just wanted to let all know, inspect your limbs carefully. This has been an awesome weapon for me and glad that Barnett stands behind their work.

Thanks, Denny. I've never had any problems with Barnett's limbs just optics that could never stay on target. I recently switched back to the good old fashioned pin & peep and started bringing home venison.

That's good to hear. I've had both a Barnett with a scope that moved constantly and a Horton with a red-dot that did the same. This year I went back to basics with the PSE and pin sights and it's worked so far.

Another strange thing happened to it this morning...I shoot a target arrow into the ground after each hunt and was pulling the trigger, but had the safety on. When I flipped the safety off, the bow discharged! Thank the Lord I still had it pointed at the ground. I may try this again after tonight's hunt just to see if it was a glitch or a design issue. If it continues to do this, I'll let every one know in a new post.

Was unable to get it to fire with the safety again, however I did notice that the sear must partially disengage, as it shot with a way light trigger after pulling hard w/safety on. Be careful, all, and keep it pointed in a safe direction.
