If you go on line to Thre River Archery or Lost Nation Archery, look at their bulk arrows, fletching, etc. Generally I make my own after buying the components. Of course that requires you to have some equipment: method to cut off and taper woodies; method to seal them; fletching rigs to mount feathers; glue for nocks and points (with hot melt style glues you also need a heat source such as a small torch and pliars). Much of the equipment will work for other materials: aluminum--cut off method and a reaming tool to smooth the inside of the tube; sealing not required; cleaning solution to remove any oils/greases on tuce;same fletching jigs, glues. Carbon--cut off method; cleaning solution for inserts and fletching; same tools for fletching. Factoring in the costs for these items runs up the cost per dozen arrows, but over time you will recoup those costs and then save probably half +/- over ready-made arrows.
Making your own is fun and a way to pass some long winter evenings!
Best of luck, Arch
