Republican Party Honchos -- DID YOU GET OUR MESSAGE IN NEW YORK
« on: November 06, 2009, 01:33:53 AM »
The Republican party is supposed to be for Conservatives. WE ARE YOUR BASE. We are willing to quit blindly voting for your candidates even at the cost of loosing elections if you are not going to give us conservatives for candidates. There is no reason to be sending RINOS like Olimpia Snow and Susan Collins to Congress. We want the real traditional Republicans, not Democrats under a different name.

What is particularly offensive is allowing a few liberal eastern states to decide who the presidential nominee will be. Some of these states allow DEMOCRATS vote for the Republican candidate. WHAT WOULD BE WRONG WITH LETTING ALL THE STATES DECIDE WHO OUR CANDIDATE WILL BE BY HOLDING ALL PRIMARIES ON THE SAME DAY? We want to vote for a candidate we like. Not hold our nose and vote for the lesser of two evils like John Mc Cain.

Primary dates are set by the state legislature and the cross over voting rules are set by the same.

The BLUE BLOOD RINO's want only one thing from the unwashed masses in the Tea Parties and that is their party line vote. It is OK for a Tea Party member to come to their country club as long as he is driving the delivery truck for the goodies for their meals or coming to clean up the party mess afterwards.

Just don't expect a place at the table.  >:(

The Republican party is the party of the corporations. It swings a few carrots of conservative talk in front of the public but it serves the coorporations. Big business gets tax breaks for research and developement investment before taxes. This allows the corps to bring down thier "taxable" earnings to something that looks like a 1% or 2% earnings on investment in the case of the oil companies. A skewed picture.

Let the corps invest in growth with after tax profits/dollars. Tax everyone at a same flat rate. Everyone, citizens and coorporations, the same rules, rates and regulations. Give the guy that earns a paycheck the same chance for investment opportunities as the coororations have. If the government is going to take 1/3 of his, the paycheck earners, paycheck in taxes before he sees it, the coorporations should be treated the same. JMHO, eddiegjr

If the Democratic party didn't get it, and they didn't. Why would anyone think that the Republican party would get it. Newt Gingrich is CONSTANTLY interviewed on Fox as a "so called conservative", and he endorsed that winch Republican, to which she turned around and endorsed the Democratic opponent.
The REAL QUESTION IS: "VOTER" AND SO CALLED CONSERVATIVE? DID "YOU" GET IT?

ANSWER: APPARENTLY NOT. THE DEMOCRAT WON.

That's because most of em DON'T CARE! They claim they do, but they don't. They were so busy being LAZY AMERICANS, it went by with out them even noticeing.
Now they will blame it on others, that they simply weren't told. The whole damn rest of the United States knew, but they didn't, and they will be outraged.  ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

Every time I think of the republican party I think of George Romero's excellent horror film, Night Of The Living Dead.

Every time I think of the republican party I think of George Romero's excellent horror film, Night Of The Living Dead.

True dat.

And I hate to say it but if you think putting ultra-conservatives up there for vote will fix it you're just being naive.  That's what some people want - I'd say it's what a lot of the readership at a gun-centric site would want, but the American public as a whole is much more moderate than liberal OR conservative.  The few people at the other extremes will always yell the loudest though.  Heck I hang out on a lot of computer-centric sites which tend to have a more distributed readership, and trust me the ultra-liberals can't stand Obama.  The reason they inevitably cite?  He acts too much like a conservative.  Surely that seems patently insane to us, but everything is relative.

Truly though I'd rather see a moderate party that has those ideals at it's roots take an honest shot.  I've made no secret of the fact that I've long supported the Libertarian party.  They're party that seems most intent on just letting people live their lives and not having the government tell them what to do.

PS That you mention Night of the Living Dead is particularly interesting.  Most of Romero's work isn't just cheap horror - it's meant as a metaphor for social plagues that affect our society.  Thea zombies aren't just zombies, but rather illustrations of the mindless horde that we all have become.  Thing is, every individual thinks they're "one of the smart ones".  It's everyone ELSE that are the mindless horde.  XKCD (an excellent comic BTW) had a great comic on that a while back:

How appropriate to derail a thread on republicans with a digression to zombies. George Romero was on Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, a public radio entertainment and news show last week. One of the interesting things I learned about him was that his first real job was working for Mr. Rogers of children's television fame. His task was to make a film about tonsilectomies, which were common at the time, in such a way that kids would lose their fear of the operation. The subject of the film was Mr. Rogers himself, who was having is tonsils removed. The irony of it is that Rogers hired George Romero so for a job so that kids wouldn't be scared. That's funny!

I saw the original black and white version of Night of the Living Dead back in about 1974 and I still haven't seen as fine a horror movie as that. It was very well made. Scary and creepy to the max, but without a lot of gore or special effects.

I heard Gingrich on the Hannity show trying to explain away his support for the rino chick in NY. It was laced with mea culpa's. He knew how liberal she was. Hell I did and I could care less what happen's in NY.And I live close to the left coast. Gingrich is a piece of crap as far as I am concerned. On second thought, I am willing to give McCain to anybody who wants him. Any takers? I have a hard time with the way his handlers treated Sarah Palin. You just don't cut somebody in the clear like that.
