Hornady. New varmint bullets & ammo?
« on: November 07, 2009, 10:48:45 AM »
HORNADY AMMUNITION AND RELOADING 20 CAL .204 DIA 30 GR NTX 100 PK

I was checking out Midsouth Shooters and Midway USA for bullet selections for my .204 Ruger and saw a new (to me anyway) offering from Hornady in their varmint bullets and ammo for .223, .204, 22 WMR, 17 HMR and 17 HM2.
Anyone know what the NTX bullets are?
No pictures shown on either websites yet.

Lead free for the folks in CA who can't use lead anymore. Nosler and Hornady both have come out with both big game and varmint bullets that are lead free now. Barnes has a new line similar to what Nosler and Hornady have for varmints as well. I'm testing those now and have some of the Noslers to test as well. I've not gotten any of the Hornady's yet but am getting ready to ask for a shipment so might add some to test alongside the other two.

Uh-huh. Tell that one to the varmint that just got hit with one of them.  ;D  I've used the
Varmint Grenade in .204 and .224 on raccoons. The 32gr V-max and .224 40gr V-max do
a lot better job. On the other hand, Barnes sent a video disc with a bullet order. They
video a prairie-dog being hit with a VG and the result was a red mist!

Thanks for the info Bill. I noticed that Hornady now has them in their new upgraded website, in the listing of new products for 2010.
