I got a preview of this new stock based on the Remington thumbhole, H&R has it on their website now.

Par for the course, another H&R stock with a comb so low that it is only useful if you rest your chin on it...   sigh...

Interesting for a new synthetic... looks very close to their new synthetic shotgun stock... which might not be such a bad thing.

I like the varmit stock better also...nice its ambi also...
What gets me is the MSP.   $217.  Should sell for under 200 bucks locally...and 24" barrels!   will have to fondle one.

You can do what I did for the Hornet, go to Combathunting.com and get a $8.95 add-on comb and screw it onto your synthetic stock. Worked just fine, but I understand the frustration.

Well, OAL would be over 30" if you used a 26" barrel...

As long as that barrel is 16.5 inches long the ATF does not care if it has a pistol grip or not.

I like it, looks good to me.  I hate wood!!!!  Just can't understand how it is held on.  Must use a short bolt.  Comb is low, but will work good with iron sites or peep sites.  I use peep on 45-70 and huntsman.  Give em time, they will probably come out with a higher comb for scope use.

Since it is a preview, it may not be the final design that hits the street.  Wait and see.

LOA still has to be 26" but it should clear that and more with a 16" barrel.

  This one might be a stupid question, but a friend of mine wants to know. ::) Could the stock be heated and then bent up ever so slightly?  I say hang it in the oven at 300 degrees and try bending it every once in a while after it has warmed up for a few minutes. The only problem I could see is the pitch/angle of the recoil pad changing. ???

Not only is it hidiously ugly, the height of the comb is waaaaaay off as previously posted.

I love synthetic stocks as long as they have classic lines and good ergonomics.
