murtha is a discrace....anyone that trys to second guess a soildier engaged in a firefight is an idiot. they did not line civilians up and shoot them they were killerd in a firefight in an urban area. anyone that has been there knows of the speed of your decisions to fire or not have a definate effect on your life expectancy. any hesitation by you can cost you and your fellow soldiers their lives. it ain't no movie you do not get a retake it is act now or die. yet the fools want to dissect every move of a soldier in the fight. i am sure they did not want nor desire to kill anyone but those that were trying to kill them. things like that will happen and have happened in every war since the beginning of time. it is sad it is unfortunate but the soldiers committed no acts of murder or mis coinduct. murtha has no shame none.

I here talk constantly of INSURGENTS in Iraq. Yes, I agree there are some but, the dregs of Iraqi society that held their children up in front of themselves after ambushing my son's patrols were IRAQIS. NOW! The 82nd Airborne TRIED TO BE GENTLEMEN ABOUT IT, but enough proved to be enough.
Innocents get killed no doubt, but a man with an AK, is not most likely an innocent, any more than a 10 year old on a roof with a cell phone giving American positions away.
As much as I detest the scorched earth policies of General Sherman and his march thru Atlanta in that unjust war, he damn sure went in to win, and he did.
WE NEED DESPERATELY TO PULL OUT OF IRAQ, AS THE POLITICIAN HAS NOT THE STOMACH TO WIN, AND INSTEAD FINDS JUSTIFICATION TO PROSECUTE OUR OWN BOYS FOR FIGHTING TO WIN. >:( >:( >:(

We (2/3) took over that AO Aug of 2006, and my take from talking to locals is that it didn't go down like he's being accused. Given the fighting we were involved in, his report sounds legit. Locals were upset about the 15 civilian casualties, but did not see it as a rampage - the insurgent propaganda machine aka the media pumped it. Meanwhile 3/1 came out of that deployment with a whole lot of accolades. I think an imbedded reporter with 3/1 saw a meal ticket and ran with it.

We had an imbedded reporter on our second tour in fallujah who, despite signing a press agreement, published graphic photos of the aftermath of a suicide bomber that killed my boss (LtCol Galeai), a good buddy (Capt. Phil Dykeman), and a Corporal of Marines who extended a year to go with us for a 3rd tour. Idiot put photos on his blog page, with commentary - totally tasteless, worst type of journalist. Once the word got out, there were platoons volunteering to take him on a patrol ...

...And the alphabet networks have been very eager to slam our troops..every time they can dream up a chance. I have not a moments doubt that the 82nd performed just a Dee said. It is actually just a wonder that our troops kept their cool, considering some of the evil they faced.

My son was Sgt. with the 82nd Airborne, 3 tours. Had no use, of trust of the civilian press.

I donated some money! Murtha sold out his integrity for political gain! Shame on him

I'll up ya one Dan. Let's trie them all for treason and hang em.
99% of all Lawyers give the other 1% a bad name. What I find hilarious about this is they are such an arrogant bunch, that they all think they are in the 1%.
