Can't wait to hear how it shoots, I just bought a new Norinco M-1911A1 'Government' .45 ACP this morning and i should have it in the mail in about 3 weeks, I live in Canada and they are available here from many different retailers. This is my first pistol so im curious to see how well yours does at the range.

I gave a range report on this accidental pregnacy around here somewhere--it was good then--I bet it is better now.
We will see---today, maybe.

rawhidekid,
Resale value is the difference in a fine pistol using a beater for a base gun, and something like a $1000 semi custom production one. Say you buy a RI and put $600 in parts and finish into it. At that point you have a nice pistol, personalized to your tastes for about a grand. Should you ever have to sell it, (God Forbid) you have a $400 pistol. The semi custom production gun will sell used for 80% (Or so) of it's new selling price.  So,-----if you plan to keep the gun forever and pass it down through the generations, go with a custom and get precisely what you want. If you look at guns as an investment, the new semi custom is the best buy.  Just a matter of preference and taste. Something to consider.

With the people in government at this time, planning on futurre generations to have our handguns doesn't seem practicle.  Having engraving on a handgun will up the value although the custom work doesn't change the value unless done by someone of note.  Then you normally have to keep the paperwork as proof.  Thanks for the reminder though Savage. 8)  rawhidekid

I stopped selling guns a number of years ago.
I do what I do to the weapons i own because I want too, like too and love the results.

I'm not into buying and selling guns either. Should I ever have to, I want maximum return on my investment. The satisfaction of owning a personalized gun can be enough return as well.  Just something to consider when sinking money into a project.
