TROUBLE GETTING SAVAGE PARTS FROM THE FACTORY
« on: November 11, 2009, 03:44:57 PM »
I bought a model 93 used off a fella a little over a month ago. It had been neglected and had a cracked stock and rust  as well as stripped bolts that attach the stock. I called the factory 3 weeks ago and talked to a guy  named Eric in parts. I ordered a new synthetic stock,a trigger group, some bolts and a bottom metal plate that fits around the mag hole opening. A week later no parts or package had been delivered. I noticed someone from the factory had called my house the day after ordering on my phone machine. My machine answers after 2 rings. They did not leave a message. I called again and had to wait on hold for a half hour to get to the parts dept. I was placed with an argumentative woman that obviously spoke English as a second or maybe third language. She tried to say there might have been problems with my card. I told her that was nonsense and I had just checked my card and it was fine. After almost begging her to get off her sorry *** she finally checked and came back and said the metal mag housing plate was on backorder. I told her to just delete the plate and send my order. Her name is ESSIE. I remember asking her for her name. Today I checked and there has been no charge to my card. I once again have been ignored. I called and let the phone ring off the hook. I did not even get a chance to get left on hold. I got on the SAVAGEARMS.COM site to send an email to customer service....The iceing on their cake was....they don't accept emails except the webmaster. He wants feedback about his site. I wrote and told him I thought it was dumb for a major corp. not to accept emails. I am fed up with this company and their new hires in the parts dept. There is a term for this kind of conduct....It is called the reason people buy Marlins and Rugers.

Wow!!!! If I had know this would have worked I would have posted here a week ago....I got home this afternoon from work a little early and a big tube was on my front porch. It was a package from Savage with all my parts. While I was looking through the package the phone rang and it was the customer service mgr. from Savage. He said they really have been covered up with calls and they have an average of over 3oo orders a day just for parts from the public now that deer hunting season is open in much of the country. They sent my parts, but I believe someone just forgot to charge my card. Free parts would be nice, but I would rather they got paid so I can keep getting parts when I need them.Any way I don't know if there are a lot of folks from Savage that read this site, but I did wait a good while and the following day after posting here I got my stuff and a phone call. Maybe you folks are just plain good luck to be around....

Savage's CS is second to none IMHO! They will do what they need to do to make it right for ya! It is a busy time of year so maybe just let them slide this time! :)

As for Effie...Iv'e dealt with her in the past and I can agree that she needs an attitude adjustment!
