I changed my mind!
I am not picky about the looks of a deer, I am going to eat.
I am going to be picky about the recipe I use to cook up the coyotes though. Appears we have more of them than deer ;)

I thought I was gonna be a bit more selective myself this year.  What a year it has been for deer hunting though, I'm glad I changed my mind when my deer came close, I may have not had another chance to fill the freezer. :(

I'd be more worried about other recipes too. ::)  Especially with some of the things you have to cook. ;) ;D

I just finished supper and you say more pics ::)

The coyotes may have something to do with the amount of deer you are seeing. :-\  Last summer  my wife said "I saw the cutest little fawn out back today" Then she called me at work a couple days later and asked if I had shot something out back. No why. Buzzards all standing around the 100yd backstop. About a dozen she says. I said something is dead or they wouldn't be on the ground. I came home and started to spray by the backstop and spotted two little tiny deer legs with hooves. :) The next day we saw a coyote out back and I said there's what got your little fawn. ;D So you better get out there and KILL some of those yotes that are eating your venison. :'(

I did penalize him for it. ;D

What is the rifle/shotgun you are using?

The left leg does look weird in the pict., with the way it's bent, and also i think it has a leaves on it too.

She is holding my "go to gun", it's a Krieghoff Semper,

I've taken everything from moose and bear,  on down to coyotes, foxes and small game with it.

Drilling Man, what's that bored at? Never saw a scope mounted like that.
Those are two different scopes aren't they? What's that rig weigh?
I always wanted a double rifle. Wonder if Larry would weld me a couple Handis together. ;D   Nice gun ;)
What projectile hit the deer?

The shot bbls are 16ga...  The bottom bbl is 8mm cal., and it's chambered for 8x57jrs, that weighs in just under 7 pounds empty...  I handload 200 Nosler Partitions to 2,550fps (about 30-06 level of performance) and i have been using this same load for over 25 years now, as it's VERY accurate and gives good penetration on big game, buy still expands some on smaller animals, even at longer ranges,

Yes i have two scopes for it, and the whole thing breaks down to a small package,

The scopes are mounted in claw mounts, and snap on or off in about 3 seconds, and ALWAYS go back to being perfectly sighted in.

I also have two slide in rimfire bbls for the right shot bbl, and they also go in and out easily and alway go back to zero.  They shoot about as good as a decent bolt action 22 rifle,

And that allows me to beable to use my "go to gun" on everything from moose and bear,

  To deer,

  Small game and preditor control,

  turkeys,

or what ever else i decide to hunt, or happen onto...

Very Very Nice ;) Thank You for sharing, the pics are great. That is one Handi gun you have there. 8) Nice wood also.

I always did admire the double rifles.
I like the idea of the Savage rifle/ shotgun combo but the fit, feel, and quality are lacking for me.

A friend had an 8mm years ago and when he shot it, it was impressive.
Thanks Again!

I also don't have a very high opinion of those Savages, but the Valmet 412 is a very good combo, and the quality is much higher without having to spend a bundle to get a good shooting combo...

  Glad you liked the picts...
