Tell me why the USA has to be the world police? We send our young boys off to die for no good reason. I could care less about all the killing in other countries. We need to take care of our own. Let the rest of the world fight it out. Why should we care if they are killing each other. Unless it affects us directly who cares? This war on terror thing should come back home. We need to tighten our borders and look real close at the forign people allready in our country. We are the only country in the world that will blow you to kingdom come one day and rebuild you the next day. I need a better house I hope the good old USA would drop a bomb on my house when no one is home so they rebuild me a brand new better house the next day. We have manged to piss the whole world off. We keep sticking our noses in where it does not belong. We do not need to be the world police period. Then we got our government giving millions to all these countries around the world. Why?

? Take that money and use it at home. Like I said I could care less about them starving little babbies in them coutries that have no respect for us at all. I say send them condoms instead. My wife and I have 1 child. That is all we feel we can afford. You got these people in these countries that have no food having 8 childern per family. Why?

since we saved england from the foot stomping germans..we have never had commitment enough to accomplish victory any where..grenada excepted..
we need fix ourselves by looking at some of the things our forefathers built the country on..
its gonna be hard to do with a man of the type we have in the oval office now.. then if lady hilliary replaces him ,,which is what i have to believe she has in mind,,we diggin our hole deeper ..

Being the world's police is strictly a consequence of national prosperity. If we couldn't afford it, we'd find a more economical way of protecting our interests abroad. When the full effects of socialism kick in, the country will be too poor for that lavish indulgence.

The easy answer is that we should mind our own business and let other countries take care of themselves. But, consider how the world might be if we had let the commies devour South Korea, or if we had allowed the Soviets to have their way with Germany and who would be Saddam's next victim after Kuwait. I'm not saying that we should be the world cops, but like it, or not, this country has interests that are vital to our survival as well as some of our allies and friends.

The trick is to find a balance between being humanitarian and doing what is in our best interest. We're always going to be the bad guy in somebody's eyes and we're always going to be somebody's best friend. There is some merit in the saying that in order for evil to triumph, the good need only do nothing--or words to that effect.

Personally, I believe we failed a long time ago to establish a no nonsense policy of zero tollerance in dealing with evil doers. We should give them fair warning and then blow them off the face of the earth--innocent bystanders and all. We wouldn't be loved for it, but we would be respected and in the long run a lot of conflict and mayhem would be avoided. That's my take and I'm sticking to it.

Because after we bombed the hell outta Germany and Japan, and brought them under submission, and then REBUILT WHAT WE DESTROYED, they were at first SOOOOOOO GRATEFUL, it made the politicians feel good, and IT BECAME A GOVENMENTAL HOBBY.
BOMB THE HELL OUT OF"EM, REBUILD'EM, AND THEY WILL BE GRATEFUL. After all. Doesn't everyone want secretly to be an American? Probably not.

I checked, no one deleted your post. What most likely happened was you did what I do from time to time and failed to pay attention. This software has a feature I detest but can't change. If you make a post and while you are typing someone else posts ahead of you then your post will not take. Instead it will pop up a window telling you that someone made a post while you were typing and that you "MIGHT" want to take a look at it first before completing your post. I seldom want to do so but if you fail to notice that and just move on rather than hitting POST yet again your post goes away into cyberspace. I've lost a lot of them that way myself. If you fail to take time to be sure your post takes before moving on you run the risk of losing it.

i agree with most we have no business policing the world. however, whether we like it or not what is happening aroung the world in some obscure places does have effects on us. 911 showed us clearly that we can not close off the world and what is going on. sometimes we must take action however that does not mean take over or rebuild nations. it does require that we are ready willing and able to fight and kill our enemy wherever they are.

it is best that the killing be over there rather than here. yet i fear with obama and his administartion we are going to bring the battlefield to our schools and shopping centers. this will be because of his weakness and failure to recognize the dangers of inaction. when it starts (and we are getting a glimpse of the start now) here and people are shot and blown up in the streets of america it will be too late to wish we had gone over there and taken care of it when we had the chance.

From the perspective of someone who doesn't live in the 'States (I'm Canadian).
First I think at times it has to be questioned why the U.S. gets involved...there are definitley times where you (the gov't) is protecting your countries vested interests...including that old bugaboo, oil.
So be it.
But where you have fallen down (IMHO) is that when you do get involved, some of your leaders are too worried about world opinion. So instead of going in with both barrels blazing (to coin an expression) and get the job done...you are too 'nice'.
It's war. They (the powers that be) worry too much about 'collateral damage' and image...and you (the U.S.) gets screwed over and involved in unwinnable wars.
One thing that would help...don't let the bloody liberal media on the battlefield. No matter how 'right' the battle or cause...they make it look like the U.S. is the bad guy.
Just a Canadian opinion.

I just don’t see how intelligent free thinking people cannot see and fully understand that 911 was a false flag op carried out by a rouge element of the past and current administrations. Bush publicly admitted that he watched the first plane hit the first tower. That one statement alone should be enough for anyone who knows anything about 911 to see right through all the lies we have all been told. Some may ask why… Well because there is only one video of the first plane strike known and it came out on 912.

Look at everything that you see happing today has but one purpose and that is to divide us as a nation and pit one “side” against the other. As everyone can see it is working as, if not better than planned. We are too wrapped up in gay marriage, abortion, drugs, terrorism, immigration, health care and of course the Left vs. Right to be able to see that the rouge element in the government is rapidly expanding its control and power over us.

A sad fact is that there are many of the GBO members who refuse to believe that their government could or would do this to them. Until those of you who still think that your government has your best interest in mind realize that they don’t we are doomed to continue on the current path. They only control us because we let them and when people finally open their eyes and see that we might be able to come together and end this take over.

Let’s think about it for a second, gay marriage, who does it affect? The folks getting married and their family… not me for sure…
Now abortion, affects the man and woman who convinced the child… and of course the child… Folks there are no shortage of children in this world but there is a shortage of parents who want them. So other than from the religious angle is it really that bad that people who have no desire to be parents not bring another child into this world to burden the tax payers and possible create another criminal?

Ok, next we have drugs and the war on them… which it has been proven time and time is a never ending unwinnable war. We throw billions of tax payers’ dollars at a made up cause each and every year while putting thousands in prison which also costs billions. If drugs were legal the element that abuse them would die off and the criminal side of it would go away. Now I admit that it is not a perfect solution and many innocent may also die in the beginning but how is that any different than a drunk killing a whole family in a wreck?

Terrorism is a term used to incite fear in the masses and it works real well. Here is a definition of it:
S: (n) terrorism, act of terrorism, terrorist act (the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear)
When looked at this way it should be clear that terrorism was used to bring us the “Patriot Act”, “Assault Rifle Ban”, “First and Second Stimulus”, “Government Run Health Care” and the list goes on… The fact is that OUR government and the media use terrorist tactics on us every day. It is easy to see that in the creation process the solution always comes before the problem… thus most of the problems are “URGENT” so as to keep people from thinking before agreeing to the preplanned solutions.

Then there is immigration… which I have no idea why we have a problem at all… build a fence or wall and shoot everyone that tries to go over or around it. Problem solved so let’s move on…

Today the big divider is healthcare, but why? If the government did not have any hand in it at all then competition would dictate the market not the bureaucrats. If we would let the doctors cure illnesses instead of making them give out useless over priced drugs for everything then we would not have a health care problem at all. The prices would go down, law suits would fall off and the doctors might even start to care about the patients again… maybe…

And of course there is the Left vs. Right that will always keep us divided as it does today. Why? Go back to “States Rights” and let the folks that are like minded live in the state that best fits their beliefs. Diversity is a good thing when encouraged in the proper way and not played as a dividing card. If people would turn the TV off and stop worrying about what someone across the country is doing that has absolutely no affect on them we might beat this one too.

I could go on but I will stop there… Blame whoever you want for whatever your problem is but the fact is it’s your own fault and if you want to overcome it then THINK THEN ACT.

Matt, that is a really good post. I do not want to believe that the US government had a hand in 911 but some things just look awfully suspicious:

1. Before 911 the Bush white house refused to allow the FBI to interview members of Osama bin Ladens' family who were living in the US. Some of these bin Laden family members were willing to talk with the FBI.

2. Just after 911 when all US commercial aircraft were grounded, the Bush white house allowed the extended family of Osama bin Laden to leave the US on a chartered plane.

3. The escape of bin Laden from Tora Bora.

4. Despite the fact that there is a 25 million dollar reward on his head and despite his hiding in an area where folks sell their friends down the drain for $50, bin Laden cannot be located by the US "intelligence agencies." Yep, we have a 6'8" skinny Arab who has a 25 million dollar reward on his head and is on dialysis: And the US cannot find him-right!!!!

Even if Bush said that, he obviously was wrong because this video proves he was in fact sitting in Booker elementary school at the time. Cabin hate to break it to you but that video proves nothing. They told him about the second plane in that video not the first. That is what the whole big stink over him sitting there was about, because it was the second plane he should have jumped up and ran off.
