i was watching the "Morning Joe" show on msnbc this am when the news broke and Ed Schultze was one of the guest. he revealed the real reason behind the trails being brought to civilian court. ed is a very left wing person with his own show on msnbc. he said that "It will place America on the moral high ground for our friends around the world to see. It will finally show the world that we are a nation of laws." then he let it slip....the testimony of the interrorgators that water boarded the man will be forced to reveal who they got their orders from. who knows this may lead to cheney bush and others and if so we must show the world that we will prosecute who ever was responisible for torturing the man.

so right there you have why they want the civilian court to handle it. to get cheney or bush..they could care less if it sets the murdering terrorist free.

the far left is jumping for joy over this and that ius why obama did it to satisfy them.

the stupidity of the obama administration is shocking to me. as mentioned before the intimidation factor of the jury. would you want to be on it and have the liberal press reveal your identity? you know it will happen and it will intimidate the jury fear for themselves and their families. the revelations of the identity of the interrogators and other secrets to our enemy.

i can see only bad trouble for new york and those people on the horizon. some say we have tried others and no problems however, they fail to see the significance of this hero to the muslim extremist. this is not someone caught fighting on some rock strewn battlefield. this is the man that planned the attack on the world trade center the ultimate insult to the u.s. in the extremist view. this is going to set in motion attemps to free him, which will fail, yet they will happen anyway.

i just can not get my head around the repeated non stop stupid actions of obama. i sit down everyday and think long and hard about all the things his administration has put into motion. i can not, no matter how hard i try, come to any other conclusion that obama is in fact out to destroy this nation. there is no other rational explanation for his actions.

he is definately going to be only a one term president and most of the democrats will be out of office along with him. i only pray that we can recover from the damage he has done and will do to this nation.

The trial of these terrorists in NY City is the wrong way to go. But at least they will finally be tried. Yep, it is going to be a show trial that will drag on for months or maybe even a few years. It will turn into a referendum on the actions of the Bush administration.

This thing could have been settled years ago except for the fact that the Bush administration wanted to keep the scumbags locked up forever without trial. Personally, I do not have a problem with that but the US justice system does.

The Bush bunch decided to do this in a way that has never ever been done before. Had the terrorist scumbags just been called criminal POWs and quickly tried by the military there would have never been a problem. But the Bush bunch had to hide some them in secret foreign prisons for a few years and then to dramatically debut them at Gitmo. Some of these terrorists would have been executed by now or well on their way to being executed. But no, Cheney and Rove decided to do it their way and were shot down by SCOTUS every time they came up with some crazy new scheme. No one ever stopped to think what would happen if/when a liberal Democrat president would run the country.

Something that was easy and straight forward has now been turned into a total debacle.

I think there is a very good chance that Osama chose to take the trials to New York to try to drag the Bush administration through the muck, but there is also his aim to save and increase jobs. The New York Times should be the main beneficiary of this outrage, right along with all of the no-ratings liberal news outlets. So Osama kills, or at least tries to kill two birds with one stone.

I can't help but hope that the whole thing backfires in his face. Be afraid New York--be very afraid.

How true. After the first attack on the WTC, the US had some show trials and went back to business as usual. We were spending over 50 billion per year on something the political hacks call "intelligence." All of those high paid "intelligence" analyists could never think of a scenario where the US policy of giving hijackers the plane would backfire in our faces: After all the airlines did not want to spend all that money to secure the cockpits.

The whole idea of just giving them the plane proved to be a recipe for disaster. The US was told by the Israelis, Russians and others that this was a recipe for disaster but no one listened. The US "intelligence agencies" were also told that Islamic terrorists were planning on attacking the US with commercial airliners but no one listened. The US had a sky marshall program but that was allowed to go to pot due to budget cuts.

NY City and the US are vulnerable in many other areas that the feel good Homeland Insecurity Dep't does not want to talk about and about which they are doing nothing.

I heard the president has to sign the death order in a military trial.
If this is true then I believe that is why it will be a civy trial.
That way obamuslim will not have to sign the death order for his brother muslims!

  Each time I hear somebody talk about "world citizen", I shudder. This sounds like those who want to sell out our soveriegnty. After all, what good is a United States , when we have "citizens of the world" ?

They are not US citizens and do not deserve the rights of the victims they murdered..the rights they violated so egregiously.
   They should be tried by the military at Club Gitmo. I would trust the military tribunal more than I would trust a bunch of sell-out lawyers and terrorists.
  Anybody with half a brain realizes that much evidence cannot be used against the terrorists because of the sensitive nature of the facts. So, since much of the most convincing evidence may well be classified, it cannot be blurted out in a publicly televised trial and the murderers may well walk.
  Then there is the "in your face" being given to the survivors of the victims in the 9/11 killings.

Seems to me that the evidence they obtained was done so while the Perpetrators were held at gitmo and being water boarded and under duress!

Wont that make it inadmissible and possibly all thrown out of court? And surely any defense lawyer worth his law degree will try to make it look like all of it was obtained under duress.

When the "trial" takes place, where will they house the jury if sequestered..and under what kind guard? How will they keep the jurors identity anonymous? Will they have to be bussed, rebussed, taken through underground passages?
How will they vette all the "spectators"? Will they do background checks? If they do background checks, will they be easy on the Muslim spectators because of PC, as at Ft Hood?..rather humorous, when the Muslims are the REASON for the background checks..

How will the court select a "jury of their peers"..if they have "peers" that are loose, why haven't they been arrested?
Maybe atty genl Holder will go to a radical mosque to find a jury of their peers..makes as much sense as a trial in NY does in the first place!
Questions could go on and on...all of which could be solved by holding the trial at Gitmo. Security is already in place and won't cost NY (which is already about bankrupt) a few million bucks per day.
But then, common sense is rare as rubies, where politics is involved.

the times and all other respectable news org. will have the photos ,names and addreses of the jury pool on the front page and on the evening news every day. this of course is only because it is in the interest of the nation to show the rest of the world that we are an open nation and have nothing to hide.

there will be the daily demonstrations maybe a real honest to god riot or two. sleeper cells will move in to maybe attemp a raid to free the accused. it will fail but just think of the headlines in the moslem world. yes sir its a good time to create a few martyrs men who might be killed behind a rock or in some lonely dark cave can now come to new york and have the whole muslim world reciting their names for eternity. heck the will have giant posters across the world with their picture on it.

the obama administration is completely clueless about the dangers they will bring to new york. they are so stupid to believe that this openess will impress our enemy to the point they will not attack us. once they see that we are going to be xtra xtra fair to the accused hell they will drop all opposition to the US all because of the half mussy obama was so good to the accused.
