back to work!
« on: November 14, 2009, 03:21:30 AM »
After 8 months of unemployment I just got a job. It's through a temp agency. I'll be replacing someone who is going to retire so if they like my work it will turn into a permanent position. I'm definitely thanking God for this because this job is at.... A MACHINE SHOP IN MICHIGAN!
I start monday, and could still use a few prayers that I fit in well, and give this company what it needs.

My wife was also able to land a part time seasonal job at Kmart! :)

Good on ya' Elijah.  Indeed we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.  Your area is probably one of the worst if not the worst for jobs right now, but hopefully you will have found a permanent one.

Locally the Korean car maker Kia has just started up a plant, that we hope has eased our situation somewhat.  Time will tell.

Good luck buddy!!

I'm in the same boat as you... I just went back to work after almost a year out.
It feels good to be productive again. ;D

Make the best of it and thank God for the opportunity.

Thats the truth if I ever heard it.  GM is bankrupt and the only thing going down our way is a foreign mfg.

Congrat's to ya Elijah. Hope it works out to a permenant job. It's funny, how alot of us pi** and moan about our jobs,(me included), and kids complain about school, when we don't have one, it's a lousy feeling. And when we get back to a job or school, sure makes us feel productive again. gypsyman
