Before the start of the new trapping season I have decided to invest in some new conibears for muskrat. I have always used Bridger #110 for Muskrat and I am very pleased with them. I am considering getting some dukes because i have heard some very positive things about them. 1 Doz. Duke #110 costs $31 while Bridger (same quantity size trap) is $40.

What would you reccomend?
And also there are no local trapping shops so I have to order them online I usually order from Adirondackoutdoor.com but they dont carry Dukes. So i was thinking about going to nwtrappers.com has any one ordered from them? how is there service?

I use Dukes because they are a in-expensive trap but they are a good trap. Me and a buddy compared some Duke and Victor coilsprings and saw no difference really. A Duke is a great trap I think, but I am not going to reccomend them over Bridgers cause I have never used Bridgers, so I really don't knopw what kind of trap they are.

I have a few of each model #110 you are asking about. In this size/model of trap (small, single spring body grip) I have found absolutely little difference in performance and durability. In the foothold world, there is a much larger difference between the two, especially in the larger sizes and styles. That doesn't seem to be too much of the case in the small game trap models though. My Duke #110s are several years old now, as are my bridgers. Both will be out this season anxiously awaiting a bite of 'rat or mink, and I have full confidence in either brand in my trap arsenal. I've always felt that Duke body grippers were a nice trap at a real good bargain price. Again, I wouldn't make that same statement about their footholds and especially in the larger trap sizes and models.

Well i use Duke allmost entirely on my trap line. They are a very cost friendly trap. They make up about 90% of my 200 plus traps and i love them. I personnaly would reccomend duke traps they have proven to be a very good trap for me. Yes some mods are needed, just like any trap out of the box. I use #1.75 and #2 on yotes and they hold up as well as anyother trap on the market. Key swivels swivels swivels.. Geeze one more day and a wake-up November25th here for land trapping. Truck has been loaded for a week now lol. Good luck to all.

MEtrapper, you will find that the Duke 110s will work fine for you,they also have avery nice 110 magnum.
Oh by the way I also carry Duke traps--as well as Bridger. Tom
