Easy .22 LR indoor bullet stop

  I live in a small hamlet with some fairly close neighbors and occasionally I like to try out my .22 LR  indoors. My neighbors don't really mind, but I don't like to rub it in. I just turn my shop radio up on some heavy metal (stuff I'd never listen to)and do some shooting at this easily prepared bullet stop. Disclaimer here: Works for me but may not for you..consult engineer.
   Sloping backstop 1/4" steel, side panels about 1/8" steel for splash. Target surface, 5/8" aspenite..holes drilled along front edges ofside panels allow shingle nails to hold aspenite panel in place. Set this into pre-built to fit box, then fill box to top with sand.

  You might try some CB caps or some CCI CB Longs to keep the muzzle blast down some.

  I use those also, but rarely go beyond standard velocity long rifles..haven't had any complaints yet. Perhaps, since I am also a blacksmith, they just think i'm delivering some heavy blows..
  I have fired Stingers & Velociters into the trap upon occasion, with no ill effects..doubt .22 mag would bother it either.

  I tried my .17 HMR and my .22 mag..no difference.

I built one of these years ago and it worked really well. We filled the bottom with play sand to catch the splash. Mostly made for air guns, but aside from the sand in the bottom spraying everywhere with rimfires it was nice!!

Be sure the area is well ventilated. Lead vapor and lead dust is bad for you.
