Hoping someone could help me
« on: November 17, 2009, 10:41:38 AM »
I have a 45-70 Encore barrel that I had rechambered to 450 marlin and now need to replace the extractor.  Does anyone know how to do this?

Just to be the the one that bites.  Who did this rechamber.  This was going from a rimmed case to a belted.  Not saying it can't be done but I am just curious.

It shoots ok I just didnt know how to get a hold of a new extractor until recently.  A friend of mine did it for free so I have no complaints.

Another thing I am curious about what was wrong with the 45/70 itself?
You passed up a good cartridge in it.
I sure would like to know the reasoning just for my own education.

Nothing was wrong with it that I know of.  I had it rechambered because I had everything for the 450 and did not have dies, brass and experience with the 45-70.
