Anyone ever use barrel mounted apertures on a Handi?

Looking at these as a possible iron sight.  Anyone ever use them, Marbles Bullseye, XS Ghost Ring, Skinners, etc.?

The best aperature sight on a Handi is the Williams WGRS peep. Mount it to the rear where the scope mount rail goes. This places the rear sight approx. where a receiver sight would be on a lever rifle. I just mounted a Krag sight at this location on my 44/handi.
I shot it last Saturday with my lead loads to see where the POI would fall. I was truely blown away with the sight picture, windage & elevation was dead-on at 25 yards. The front sight is the standard iron that came with the piece. I'll take it out again with my 240 gr. jacketed full loads and file that front sight if it needs adjustment with the rear at the 100 yard mark on the rear sight. With luck it will need no tweeking.
With the elevation, by using the ladder sight of the Krag, I can go out to 1000 yards, if the bullet will travel that far.

I use a set of the XS sights ghost rings on my 500 handi and I love them, they are excellent and I thought that it was a good price for the quality and service they provide. 5 stars for the folks and products of XS.

Did your XS sights sit mid barrel or at the frame?

All "receiver" sights designed for H&Rs mount in the two rear scope mount holes on the chamber swell, see Peep and Firesights in the FAQs for more info Bob. The H&R 45-70 Buffalo Classic comes standard with the Williams WGRS which can be used as a ghost ring without and aperture or they make a ghost ring for it that replaces the threaded aperture carrier.  ;)

I have the Williams FP w/target knobs on my BC.  Much more elevation and windage than the sight that comes on the gun.
The .093 aperture is just about right for all around shooting.

Last weekend I was plinking at a nine inch pie pan at 300 yards fairly easily after the range was dialed in.

I bought mine at Brownell's with a substantial discount using my C&R license.
